Hi, I'm Tokie.

I was born and grew up in Osaka, and I have lived in Osaka for 90% of my life. I like to show people around my city, not only famous sightseeing places but also local places where you can feel how real Osaka is.

I also travel a lot. I have traveled to Europe, South East Asia, North and Central America, and more. I always enjoyed tours where I could meet local people and enjoy an awesome experience. So I want to offer similar tours here in Osaka.

My likes:
1. Local tours
2. Good food
3. Cooking
4. Language and culture exchange (I can teach Japanese!)
5. Japanese calligraphy
6. Running (I have some marathon experiences.)
7. The beach (That's what I miss here in Osaka!)

Please contact me if you want to enjoy Osaka and Japan!

    Great host and hospitality

Tokie was lovely and helpful in settling us with big bags before going to local market with us (2 kids + 2 adults). We made udon from scratch and had a great lunch together. Definitely recommend this tour and we love to see Tokie again.

    Great tour!

Thanks Tokie for a great tour. Loved the food, can't wait to get the recipes so we can try at home.

    A great time!

My experience with Tokie and Amy was great. I really enjoyed making my stone craving and everything was well translated. The experience was casual and relaxed. The same was true for the cooking class. I learned a lot about Japanese cuisine and as I helped prepare the food I learned some specific aspects of how to make several dishes. The food tasted great and the conversation was fun! Thank you!

    Great Experience :)

I had a very nice time with Tokie. She took me through a nice market where we got ingredients to cook as well as she explained to me about many things there. Back at the house we had a fun time chatting and cooking multiple things and all were delicious. Sadly I was not feeling great so I couldn't eat as much as I wanted to, but it was all delicious. She was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I actually remade one of the recipes last night and everyone loved it :)

    Anthony Bourdain for a day

This was more than just cooking. It was grocery shopping, cooking, eating, talking and laughing with a local. Got to feel like Anthony Bourdain for a day. Unforgettable experience.

    Tokie the friendly foodie!

We had a great time with Tokie touring the food market and learning about japanese food. Tokie was very well liked by the local shop keepers, with many of them giving us extra treats for our meal! Tokie was friendly and approachable and made us feel comfortable for the whole experience.

    The most unforgettable sukiyaki

Tokie is not only a knowledgeable tour guide but also an traveler. I often eat Japanese food in Taiwan, however, it's my first time to buy ingredients from local market and cook Japanese food in Japan.

It's very interesting to know the stories about Japan market and cuisine, and enjoy the meal in the Japanese style living room to experience real Japanese local family life.

If you want to experience real Japanese life and culture, you should join Tokie's activity in Osaka.

    Fun cooking Day

Had a lovely time with Tokie. We were familiar with the area but enjoyed a look deeper into the surroundings. It felt very cozy in her home and fun.

Doing a home cooking tour was fun and much appreciated since you are always eating out on a vacation. I was a little disappointed that the home we used was a vacation rental/dormitory rather than the personal home of our host. It seemed a little strange being in a home that was currently occupied by other people who all shared the same kitchen, bath, and living room. Otherwise we had a great time!

Tokie was a fantastic host. The market tour was brilliant and then the cooking class ... awesome! This was definitely one of the highlights from my trip to Japan. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to know a bit more about this amazing culture.
