Zamami Island is part of Kerama Islands, an archipelago located about 30 kilometers west of Okinawa's main island and its capital Naha. The beaches have some of the best coral reefs in Japan and are protected under the Ramsar Convention. In May 2014 Kerama Islands were designated a national park because of their impressive nature and abundant marine wildlife. In particular Zamami Island fascinates visitors with its quiet inlet beaches, forested hills and opportunities for water sports.
We will help you get round-trip tickets for the ferry or high-speed boat that connects Naha and Zamami Island. Especially in summer the water route is quite busy (local people living on the island also use it) and it's difficult to make a reservation or get the tickets. Therefore you can leave this to us and enjoy what will certainly be your best beach holiday in Okinawa!
Depart from Naha Tomarin port in the morning and arrive at Zamami island. It takes about 1 hour with a high-speed boat and 2 hours with a ferry. Various companies which offer beach rental facilities and marine sports will be waiting at Zamami port with their shuttle buses, ready to take you to Furuzamami Beach. Please note that the shuttle buses are free (you can't reach the beach on foot), but you're expected to use the services of the rental company once you arrive at the beach. Any company is fine - the prices of the rental items (parasols, snorkels, masks) are the same (500-1000 JPY per item).
Enjoy your leisurely day at the quiet beach! You can take underwater photos of the coral reef wildlife with a water-proof camera, or you can ride a banana boat, a wakeboard, or a glass-bottom sightseeing boat. In the afternoon you can take again the free shuttle bus back to Zamami port and return to Naha with lots of fantastic memories from your tropical island experience!

- Zamami Island has other, more secluded beaches which however are not served by shuttle buses. One such place is Ama Beach Camp west of the port.
- Zamami Island also offers opportunities for hiking and trekking. You can stay overnight in a private lodge (not included in this service).
- The ferry and the high-speed boat stop also at the nearby Aka Island. Nishihama Beach is the best place there.
Go directly to Naha Tomarin port's counters.
