Entire day was terrific...old city of Nagano, hiking to the Snow Monkeys, and time with our guide, Naoko!
This tour was everything that we could have expected and more. Our guide Naoko was informative, experienced, and totally enjoyable! The entire day was fascinating, starting with touring the old city of Nagano with the ancient Zenkoji Temple complex, delicious lunch, beautiful hike, and the "out of the box" experience with the Snow Monkeys! It was a fantastic day. Thank you Voyagin!
Day Tour to See Japan Snow Monkeys in Nagano's Hot Spring
Dear Voyagin team,
We want you to know how much we enjoyed the day trip to the Zenkoji Temple and the Snow Monkeys. It was a fantastic day and Naoko Itoh was our wonderful guide. She took excellent care of us and is a delightful person! We will always remember this special day as one of the best!
Fantastic day! LOVED the monkeys - they were NEXT to us in the park. Nagano is beautiful. Wonderful host. I would recommend this activity to everyone and next time we are in Japan we are doing it again!
Wonderful day in Nagano and Monkey Park. Did not think that we would see the monkey so close to us. SO much fun! Nagano was beautiful. Loved the Temple and the lively shopping street leading up to it. Also a terrific onsen experience. Our guide was superb - so friendly and knowledgeable. When we come back to Japan we will do this again!
One day tour to the Snow Monkeys in Nagano's hot springs!
Naoko was an awesome guide. Our train was late and we could not reach her but she waited for the next train which we did make.
We had a wonderful time at the Snow Monkey Park after which we went shopping. I bought my grandson something very special and could not carry it with me on the airplane so Naoko helped me package it and get it in the post.
Her help was invaluable. I will look her up if I get the chance to return and will recommend her to anyone going there.
Great Day out visiting the beautiful snow monkeys!!
Thank you to our happy enthusiastic host who organised our day very well. Getting to see the moneys is a bit of an expedition especially if you start out from Tokyo, however as an animal lover I found it well worth the effort. The walk through the forest to get to the monkeys is very pleasant even in cold weather. If you go in the winter I recommend wearing your ski gear and Apres boots with snow spikes. It's great to see the monkeys in their natural environment, watching them care for their young and forage for food in the snow.
The Buddhist temple in Nagano was also a very interesting cultural experience and we all tested ourselves trying different food in the traditional Japanese lunch.
Thank you for a great day!!
Fabulous day trip from Tokyo - perfect for animal lovers
We booked a day trip from Tokyo to visit the Snow Monkeys in Nagano through Voyagin. The arrangements were executed beautifully - starting with train tickets delivered to my hotel. Once in Nagano we easily met our guide, Megumi. She was delightful! Megumi kept our small group on track through several train rides, a bus, a tour of a temple, lunch, taxis, and, ultimately, the hike into Jigokudani Park to see the monkeys. While shepherding us around she provided insightful commentary, answers to questions, and discussions of whatever came up. She was very knowledgeable, personable, professional, and punctual. I loved seeing the monkeys and watching them frolic and bathe, but spending time with Megumi really added to this pleasurable experience.
This tour was AMAZING! Our guide was polite, intelligent and funny. Not only that, she made sure everyone was having a good time and really showed us a side of Japan you wouldn't normally get to see. Lunch was great too.
