Hyotei was originally opened as a tea house around 400 years ago. Since then it has kept with a Japanese style of aesthetics that were based on tea ceremonies. These aesthetics are highlighted in their cuisine and its appearance which will allow you to discover Japanese aesthetic ideas from the simple and profound dishes at Hyotei. Reservations are mandatory and our service will help you book seats.
It was Hyotei's rice porridge that was used in the story of hit comic “Oishinbo”. In reality the porridge has an amazingly refined taste containing no seasoning, so that you can feel authentic rice flavor. Another remarkable dish at Hyotei's are the soft-boiled eggs called Hyotei eggs which are unbelievably tasty and delicious.
Hyotei is located about 8 minutes walk from Keage Station. The restaurant is a detached house surrounding by a wall blocking the view inside hiding the beautiful ancient garden within, so at Hyotei's, you can expect to dine in a private dining room with a gorgeous view.

***If you miss your restaurant reservation, you will be required to pay the course fee for each person who was not able to attend. We will send you a payment link for this fee. If your payment is not received, the fee will be automatically charge to your credit card account. We strongly recommend that you kindly visit the restaurant as scheduled.
