Coming from France, I now live in Kyoto. I Speak English, Japanese and French.

Fond of Kyoto, I crossed it in all directions with my bike and climbed most hills and mountains, searching for small forest paths and abandoned temples.

I've tried as many ramen restaurants as possible, and became quite an expert on the matter. Let me recommend some to you :)

    Engaging experience!

Since we had only a couple of days in Kyoto we thought it best to get the guide service & we're glad we did. The short time gave us so much insight about the historical streets as well as the great autumnal outdoors. Guillaume is an able guide. Will recommend his service to others.😊

Guillaume is a fantastic guide. Taking this tour is a way to see parts of Kyoto with someone who really appreciates the people, culture, history, and landscape. I would like to do each of Guillaume’s tours in the future because I think they would all be as good as this one. Thank you Guillaume!!

This review has been pending for a long time. Sorry, Guillaume!!! But here it is. ;)

The tour was so last-minute on my part and was very lucky that he was able to accommodate me on such short notice.

He was very very nice, very accommodating and quite knowledgeable about the area. He took me around places I would never have found by myself. Through Guillaume, I would never have expected to cross that bridge from the hotel to the train station. Teehee! I think I lost a few pounds there. LOL

He was very patient while I took pictures and we even had a nice lunch/snack at a small Gion restaurant.

Will definitely get him again as a guide, maybe this year (July perhaps) and I'd definitely recommend him to anybody who would want a taste of what Kyoto has to offer. ^^

Guillerme really know the area, the small streets like a native! Highly recommended. :)

My wife and I had a great time with Guillaume. Our afternoon tour took place mostly under heavy rain but Guillaume was able to turn it into a very pleasant experience. If, like for us, time is a scarce resource during your stay in Kyoto, I would recommend initially booking a tour with Guillaume before visiting the city later on your own - this will help you make the best out of your time in this beautiful city.

Guillaume knows really lot about Kyoto. I only had two days in Kyoto and decided to book him. It was an excellent choice, I got to see so much more than if I had tried to do it on my own. He showed me all the places that I wanted to see (Arashiyama, Gion corner, etc..) and so much more. Great guide, I highly reccommend him.

My son (14) and I had a wonderful time touring Kyoto with professional guide Guillaume. He made touring effortless, even though we chose a strenuous / active itinerary. We saw everything from native monkeys to shrines and beautiful Zen gardens. Guillaume also took us to authentic restaurants, away from the tourist - trap places, which was a big plus. My son especially appreciated the fact that we stopped often to sample different types of street foods unique to the region. If you are planing a trip to Kyoto, my advice is hire native Frenchman Guillaume. Otherwise you will be walking around in circles navigating this large city missing out on its best kept secrets.

Having only a day to visit Kyoto I figured the best would be to have a ‘local’ show me around during my limited time, and therefore booked a full day tour with Guillaume. We communicated via email prior to my arrival in Japan to discuss preferences of places to visit, itinerary, etc.
I found it interesting that he comes from the same cultural background as myself, having a similar outsider look yet a very good knowledge of the Japanese culture, traditions and way of life.
During our day we circulated by bike and on foot, visiting many shrines and temples in the old quarters of eastern Kyoto, climbed up the Daimonji mountain to enjoy a great view over the city, and finished in the city center with a stroll through the Nishiki market. For lunch we had some delicious Okonomiyaki in a small typical restaurant in Gion.
It has been a very interesting and active day, which I can recommend to people who have only very little time in Kyoto. Thanks again to Guillaume for being a very pleasant, knowledgeable and flexible host!

We had an excellent experience. Guillaume was both knowledgeable and very helpful. He showed us many interesting things that we would've never found on our own. Thank you very much!
