Originally a Scottish nobleman’s mansion called Milton Lockhart House, this house was transported piece by piece to Japan and slowly rebuilt from 1987 to 1993. Now, this “castle” and its grounds serve as a mini-theme park, a wedding venue, and a backdrop for photo and film shoots. It’s also a favorite road-trip destination for couples — urban legends say that if you visit Lockheart Castle with your partner, you’ll stay together forever. The castle’s attractions are an eclectic mix of all things European. Inside the castle are exhibitions dedicated to teddy bears, jewelry, antique Santa Claus figurines, fossils and precious stones, perfumes, and more. Also on the castle grounds is St. Lawrence’s Church, a reconstruction of a medieval English church.
