Fantastic day out.
We had a great day out with Ketut. He was very informative as we drove and at the places we visited. The Sekumpul falls were spectacular and we had a knowlegable guide to take us down. We didn't get to see Mount Batur due to the cloud cover as it appeared to have completely vanished but we thoroughly enjoyed our day out and would recommend this to trip to everyone.
I had seen photos of the waterfall but actually seeing it up close is incredible. It's a beautiful area and whilst the hike is quite steep, it is definitely worth it. Being able to swim under one of the smaller (less painful!) waterfalls is really refreshing and fun. There is a Rp 150,000 entrance and guide fee per person which I didn't know about, but it would probably be cheaper if you didn't get a guide. However, our guides were great and really funny plus you learn a lot from them about the area. On the way back, stopping to view Mt Batur was fascinating and the coffee plantation was also a really interesting and tasty experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour as it is a great way to escape the cushy tourist hub and see some of the beautiful Bali landscapes you would otherwise not see.
Went to the base of the waterfall and was speechless. Really beautiful. My guide was very helpful too.
Best Day in Bali
We booked a full day tour through Voyagin with Ketut. The booking process was simple and efficient. Ketut contacted us immediately and worked with us in securing the day we wanted. On the day of the tour, our driver was Danny/Denny (not sure which) and he was wonderful! His english is excellent and he shared a lot about Bali living with us. His car was clean and comfortable and he made sure to stop as great spots along the way for photo ops. We started the day at Sekumpful waterfalls with a local guide (additional cost but worth it). The walk is definitely slippery and long but not too difficult. Our guide was really friendly and a wonderful photographer as well. When we returned, we sampled some local Bali Kopi and Luwak coffee. Next stop was lunch overlooking Mt Batur. Great little buffet with the best views of the mountain. Even though it had started to rain, we still really enjoyed seeing this side of Bali! Next we went to the Tirta Empul temple....so cool to see the people doing the holy water bath ritual and temple ceremony. Finally, we finished by walking around the Tegallalang rice terraces. It was a perfect day. We highly recommend!
Our guide Yaman was patient and helpful. The waterfalls were magnificent.
Tips . Leave dry clothes in your car at the star point as the spray will get you and every thing you carry soaking wet unless in a waterproof bag . Camera or phone will need a waterproof case as it's impossible to swipe a wet screen . Use walking stick if provided as terrain in wet and slippery in places . Steep climb down and very hot and humid making the climb back slow . Not good for people with mobility difficulties. The guide was knowledgable and did not rush .
We also visited thetemple about by the lake which was beautiful.
We then visited the rice terraces which were stunning . The only thing I will say about organised tours are that often they take you to a place eat which can be overpriced . Personally I would rather have a meal at a more traditional place even if a road side or market and give back to the more rural communities.
Overall I would recommend govoyagin as the staff are friendly , reliable and informative and are very relaxed and will adapt any excursion to meet your needs .
The day was very well set out and the guide very informative. Waterfalls were amazing!!
Ketut is an amazing host, we have learned alot from him about the culture of Bali. The experience was better with his company.
The waterfall is an amazing experience. The way to Ubud offers lot to explore Balinese culture. The rice field is like a painting, just gorgeous. And finally, coffee tasting and plantation is a nice opportunity to taste traditional Balinese flavors. Ketut, on the other hand, made the whole experience more special and unforgettable. I believe we have learned a lot from him and his friendship wil always be in our memory.
Bit of a hike down to the falls but definitely worth it. See a bit of the real Bali along the way.
Almost around the whole island in one day
It was a very nice tour we got to see a lot of different sights and Ketut was very flexible to change it to our timings and even drop one of us at the airport after. Great service! What I didn't realise was that it wasn't Ketut himself so unfortunately the driver didn't know so much about the different temples.. a bit of information would have been nice. But he was still very pleasant to talk to. Definitely to recommend :)
Tour was great and amazing! Got to swim under the fresh clean water :))
