Overview
This is a full day tour to see the living museum of Penglipuran, woodcarving village Kemenuh, the mother temple of Bali - Besakih, as well as the amazing view of Kintamani.

Description
This is a full day trip combining the best of culture and heritage of the island, first with a stop to visit Kemenuh village to see the wood carving center, before continuing up to the Batur volcano with its amazing view of Batur lake. We then visit the largest and most sacred Hindu temple in Bali - Besakih mother temple, the core of Bali's spiritual and sacred life with thousands of pilgrims from all over the island every day.
After visiting the temple, we continue to Rendang village to take a rest and have lunch at the local restaurant on the top of a cliff. You will get to take in the spectacular scenery of rice paddy fields and the tallest mountain on the island - Mount Agung.
Our last stop for the day is Penglipuran village, a traditional village in Bali with a unique social structure and culture. 700m above sea level, the village boasts a cool atmosphere and is said to have been a place of amusement for former kings. All the houses here are beautiful, with identical traditional gates all oriented towards Mount Agung.

ITINERARY:
08.30: Pick up at your hotel
10.00: Visit to Kemenuh to take a look at the woodcarvers' masterpieces
11.00: Leave for Kintamani to view the Batur volcano
12.30: Continue to Besakih temple
13.30: Start to walk up to Besakih temple
15.30: Leave Besakih to Rendang for lunch at a local restaurant.
16.30: Visit Penglipuran village
17.30: Leave the village for your hotel

Entering the Besakih temple you may need to wear a traditional outfit in order to respect the locals. This will be made available outside the temple for a small fee.

This tour was great. Loved the Temple and the Traditional Village. First off out tour guide NANA was excellent. Very friendly and explained about the history of every place we went to. He was willing to custom the tour for you and if you felt like not stopping somewhere (though we went to all places), he was willing also. He even went out of his way to meet our needs when we were trying to find a wooden Buddha in Mahogany wood that was hard to find He took us to three wood carving places to see if we could find it. I highly recommend this tour and the tour guide. Also he was always on time to pick us up at the hotel.

Nana was very easy going and friendly which made the trip very pleasant.
Our favourite part of the trip would have to be besakih.
I liked that nana was very knolaglable for example I learnt from nana that gates and certain acutecture can represent mountains that was just one of the many things I learnt from nana, I now have a better understanding of the Balinese culture. We also like that nana supplied the sarongs and traditional head scarfs.
My tip would be travel with nana if you really want to understand the Balinese culture.
