I am Ketut (my friends call me Gin) and this is my wife Ayu. I am originally from a remote village in Tabanan while my wife was born in Bangli. I have over 25 years of experience in hospitality and met my wife while working at the Bali Dynasty Resort in Kuta. I guess you could say that we are passionate about promoting the best of Bali to our guests!
In 2012, we paid a visit to the village of Sidemen and fell in love with the beauty of its mountains, rice terraces and friendly locals. We decided to build a small villa there to let others experience this beauty for themselves and are thrilled to be able to contribute to the local community. If you are looking to take a break from hectic modern life, come let us help you experience the stunning countryside and deep spirituality of the area and we promise you won't forget it.

This was the highlight of our trip. It was the best value for money I spent in Bali and I couldn't believe how amazing we were catered for. The tour was amazing, not too hard but enough To keep it interesting. We will defiantly come and stay in the villa for a couple of nights when we come to Bali. I would so highly recommend this to a couple that want a day of bliss away from the craziness of Kuta and Seminyak.
Wow, what an amazing place! Walking around the rice terraces was wonderful, we got to eat some of the produce straight from the ground (jack fruits, beans and chili peppers!) and had an amazing view of the valley. The lunch was pretty damn good, and the massage at the end was in a lovely little bower. Intensely relaxing!
What a fantastic day! Everything went as planned. Pick up was right on time, and when we arrived we were given a quick run down of our day and were served pancakes (both Indonesian and American styles!). During the trek through the ricefields every single picture turned out to be perfect! Our guide Wayan showed us all the plant life (really hand-on!) The staff were friendly and lunch was delicious (the vegetarian meal was so yummy!). The massage was professional and my favourite part was when could hear the distant tunes of the gamelan being played throughout the valley. I would highly recommend this to everyone!
What a wonderful exciting day we had..
From the moment we were picked up from the hotel till we were returned safely home ..
When we arrived a sideman every thing just flowed perfectly .. The hotel , hosts and staff were just amazing .. We all loved the trek and found it not too challenging physically but an experience I will never forget .. Take some money as we stopped on the route back to hotel and bought some amazing local craft at great prices ..
The yoga was a fantastic and peaceful way to finish the day for me .. Ayu was great and showed and explained all the exercises so we could return home with a understanding of how and why yoga is benificial to our body and minds .
I would highly recommend this day and I shall be returning again to this amazing , untouched , peaceful paradise
Thank you to Ayu and Ketut and staff for a day to remember 😃
Such an awesome and amazing day spent at Cepik Villa. The hosts were great and they personally came to greet me
Our experience was by far one of the most memorable during our trip in Bali. We had a organic snack prior to our 2.5 trek through the rice fields. The meal was thoughtfully prepared and the service was outstanding. Our trekking guide spoke english very well and quite knowledgeable. There were a few rivers that we had to cross. I would recommend putting your cell phones in a plastic bag. My husband actually fell in the water as we crossed.
Upon our return to the villa, we practiced yoga and meditation on top of a hill with a breath taking view. That moment, that view is something you would only see in painting or movie. After yoga, we had an organic authentic balinese lunch.
I would recommend Sideman trekking and spa and yoga experience to anyone visiting for the first time. To Aya & Ketut, thank you for making our experience such a memorable one and we are glad we can keep in touch across the miles through Facebook!
We had a great time on this excursion. The host and hostess were awesome.
The day started, after we arrived, with a light Balinese breakfast of ginger tea and a light meal. Superb! We then got a tour of the facilities and then the adventure began.
The trek through the rice fields took three hours and was a bit strenuous at times. It was a bit more involved than we had initially expected, but all in all we did enjoy the experience. Our guide was very good at assisting us through the more difficult parts of the trek and he was very informative as well. We got lots of great pictures. Stopping is allowed at any time, just let the guide know.
When we returned from the rice fields we had a very nice lunch. Our waiter was very attentive and knocked himself out taking care of us.
We requested and were allowed to shower before the massage (plan ahead and make sure you have a change of clothes--we did!) and then the massage was AWESOME! Best massage we have ever had, and we have had many. The massage therapists were awesome.
Before leaving the entire staff and the owners came out to bid us farewell and shake our hands--a very classy touch, I think. I recommend this excursion to anyone who is up to the trek.
A Hidden Gem indeed! What a gorgeous part of Bali that so many visitors easily miss. Really puts me in a spot as I wish everyone could see and experience this, at the same time, I do want to keep it my own little secret.
The trek isn’t as easy as it sounds. It’s a gradual hike, I would say. I definitely felt it in my hamstrings and glutes :) which I guess is great exercise. The view as you trek further up the levels of rice fields is absolutely remarkable.
Not only do you trek through the rice fields but you pass rivers (so be sure to be ready to take off your shoes to get into the water) and a small waterfall too. Be sure to stop, and turn around to take in everything around you. I had to remind myself to stop looking down at where I was going and pause to look at the scenery. Because really, when you look out and see the mountains and the epic field of green, it’s a postcard!
On the way back, we even managed to pop into a local textile workshop and our dear guide brought us to his house where his whole family lived and we ate a couple of steamed peanuts and sweet potatoes, and watched his little chicks scurry around his family compound.
After such a tiring morning, we had a lovely lunch where we had a beautiful view of the mountains and even more rice fields.
After a filling lunch and a quick rest, we went on to rejuvenate ourselves with our Yoga class, led by an absolute Yoga Guru, Bapak Putu. He was an absolute star. Knowing that we were complete beginners, he was really patient and corrected us slowly. In this serenity, I was able to completely immerse myself in the activity.
To me, it was definitely a perfect day!
