Not as advertised.
Trip was not as advertised.
Collection from the hotel was straightforward and easy however the 'included boat to the island' was deceptive. We had to wait for 45 minutes in the full sun and heat to board the public ferry with 80+ others.
Upon arriving at the island the staff were all friendly and accommodating.
When snorkelling it became apparent that this trip was very much for beginners, which was fine except for the fact that those who are able to snorkel were not allowed to swim further than about 2 metres from the guide. As a result of this not much sea life was spotted as we were forced to stay in a close group of 25 and were repeatedly being kicked and hit by other snorkellers.
The lunch was adequate, a small selection but traditional dishes.
The canoeing through the mangroves was fun however again we were forced to travel in a close-knit group. Therefore the canoes were repeatedly bashing into each other and you were unable to paddle freely through the water.
Negatives aside it was an enjoyable day, the staff were lovely and the water was beautiful. We were disappointed that the swell was too big to go to the area where the manta rays were, but that was unfortunate natural cause.
Therefore, it was a nice day out but definitely not as glamorous as originally advertised.
A lot of fun
Although the weather was miserable and raining the whole time, the staff were still smiling and doing what they could to make the day enjoyable. Unfortunately we weren't able to visit Manta Island due to choppy conditions but I'd rather be safe than shark bait!!
Would definitely do again!
AMAZING place & GREAT service!
Big thanks to Tatang, Ketut, the monkey man and the team for making this trip such an amazing journey despite some rain that we had.
**The staffs at LWS are very attentive and helpful**
We saw 3 big mantas, 2.5meters and the snorkeling spots are simply wonderful, very colorful with many nice small fish.
The SUP in the mangrove was lovely.. please bring your mosquito repellent though.
Highly recommend! And I definitely will come back again!
Very nice trip but could be better
Shortly: above all the trip is nice, two of the three snorkeling spots are really amazing, the tour is well organized and the staff is super nice. The mangroove tour is nice aswell but way too short.
I don't give 5 stars because the potential of this tour is really high and in my opinion there is room for improvement. First thing: we were lucky enough to spot at least four mantas at the first snorkeling stop, which is itself really nice due to the presence of a crack full of fishes at the bottom. It was awesome, but after 20 or so minutes we were pulled out of the water. Why? Most of the people won't ever have the chance to swim with mantas ever again and the title of this activity is "swim with the mantas". Give me 10 minutes more, not 10 less, then if you need time for the schedule take it from the lunch break or the second snorkeling stop which is really nothing special. Anyway.. The third snorkeling point is really cool and unique.
Second thing: during lunch time we were asked if we preferred sup, kayak or gondola for the mangrove tour. We picked sups. Unfortunately there are only 4 sups for roughly 20 people, so the staff decided we had to switch to kayaking, we were really looking forward to sup in the mangroves but I can understand. I don't know with which criteria the sups were assigned, but I started to have some doubts about it on the way back when we crossed people sitting on the sup, using it as a.. Kayak. Maybe it would make sense to give sups to somebody that can actually use it or much better make few more available. And once again, the experience was very nice, but really too short.
Good but lots of time with nothing going on
The snorkeling itself was awesome! The paddle boarding in the mangrove forest was great but not long enough. Then there were basket apps of waiting and doing nothing, time that could've been better spent
Incredible trip to see the Manta Rays, we were lucky enough and saw 6 big Mantas in total ! The others snorkel spots were awesome too ! Everything was very well organised and our guides were super nice and funny ! Material was good too, we felt safe all along the day. I would definitely recommend this trip to Lembongan !
Very good tour but should mention the chances of seeing mantas.
Prompt pick up even though we were at a resort in Ubud which some other drivers had difficulty in finding. Everything was taken care of well and the snorkeling was great. I won't give a full 5 stars because I think the title of this trip is a little misleading. I understand nature is unpredictable and nothing can be guaranteed but it seemed as it was actually predictable that we never had a chance to see any manta rays as they weren't even mentioned. Not even once did the guides say anything about them at all which leads me to think they knew it was out of season and/or highly unlikely we would have seen them. It would have been nice to know there was no chance before we booked. Disappointing of course but everything else was pretty much spot on. Helpful and informative instructors, good lunch, great snorkeling and the canoeing through the mangrove forest was a nice way to finish.
Great Experience with Great Staff
Amazing experience, I was able to swim with the Manta Rays and the staff was very kind and helpful. They also have great language skill and were very organized. Highly recommend.
After experiencing this dive, I'm afraid that I have been spoiled, and will inevitably compare all other dive experiences to this one.
First, the service. The gear was all brand new, and everything was done for us, from carrying the gear to the boat to changing tanks and setting up the BCDs.
Our guide, Tatum, was entertaining, friendly, and very helpful. Together with the other guide, during our dives they were able to point out creatures that we would have easily missed, making the experience that much more enjoyable. While we did not see mantas (too late in the day by then), we were able to see a sleeping shark, a sea turtle, an octopus, and several moray eels in one dive!
I definitely recommend this group to others, and will probably be coming back again soon, to see the missed mantas and mola-molas that will be appearing later this year.
