So many beautiful places in Bali are unknown - join us on a Waka Experience for a unique lens into the Island of the Gods and its surrounding sister island!

Our WakaSailing Catamaran offers an exhilarating outing from Bali to the neighboring Nusa Lembongan island: enjoy the underwater beauty of the coral reef; BBQ lunch buffet at the thatch-roofed Waka Beach Club; balmy weather and soothing sea breezes on this popular day trip.

Our WakaLandCruise showcases Bali’s unspoiled lush countryside as nature created her: marvel at UNESCO World Heritage terraced rice fields carved on the mountain slopes in central Bali and relish traditional Balinese cuisine at our exclusive Bamboo Forest Restaurant.

We came across this tour by accident and thought about it for a while since the price seemed a bit expensive. However, we finally decided to give it a go and our driver Made came to pick us up in a Land Rover at 8.15 in the morning. After picking up another 2 guests, we first went to visit a stone quarry where local women were working in a traditional method. After that, we headed to an authentic village where we had a quick tea with balinese desserts. They produced spices and grew tropical fruits there, so that was quite eye-opening. Next, it was on to the famous rice paddies of Jatiluwih where we took a break to admire the view and take some photos. Lunch was in a bamboo restaurant with a good spread. It almost felt like we were lost in the jungle :) Alcohol was included and we were all quite full by the time it was done.

Our last stop was at some hot springs, which was actually in a temple. The atmosphere and feeling of the whole place was truly magical.

All in all I would say that the concept was quite original - visiting villages on a 4x4 where the welcome was very warm. There was some traffic along the way at times, but the company of our driver made time fly by and we appreciate that he was very flexible in allowing us to stop at any point along the way. His English was very good and we managed to learn quite a bit about Balinese culture from him.

A+ for a fun experience and special mention goes to the restaurant and the views at Jatiluwih.

We enjoyed an excellent day out (even if the trip was a little bumpy in a land rover with no air conditioning ) The guide was excellent as was the old lady posing for us with rocks on her head for photos. Her smile and enthusiasm was lovely, we very much enjoyed the traditional village visit and the family made us feel very welcome, loved mum ma cooking the pancakes , she was also very keen to be in my photos :) Lunch in the resturant in the forest was amazing so much delicious food and so much to choose from , the black rice pudding yum!! The rice fields are such a sight to see, it's a must to visit these places when you visit Bali as there is so much more to see, so much more than the street vendors, traffic and beach . This trip is one I would highly recommend.
