Noah’s Ark Hong Kong first opened to the public in 2009. Surrounding the main Ark is a sprawling nature trail filled with thousands of trees along meandering paths. The hilltop lookout here offers fine views overlooking the water and there is also an insightful Heritage Centre displaying relics unearthed in the local area in recent times. The top floor of the three-storey Ark is actually a hotel where guests can stay overnight. There is also an on-site restaurant to grab lunch between visits to each of the exhibits.
Cutting edge multimedia and hands on activities bring the story of Noah’s Ark to life along like never before. It also displays historic bibles and replicas of the golden Ark of the Covenant. At the Ark Life Education House, kids can get creative with interactive challenges, games and fun experiments.
The Ark itself is set in picturesque greenery right by the waterfront, featuring manicured grounds filled with blooming flowers, a waterfall and serene pond. The most prominent feature is also the most photogenic. Emerging from the ark are 67 pairs of life-size animal statues including tigers, giraffes and elephants.
Measuring 36 metres high, the distinctive Solar Tower casts a ray of light on the mysterious workings of the Sun. It features a vacuum solar telescope allowing visitors to view activity on the surface of the Sun in real time. Other exhibits and multimedia displays give an insightful glimpse into the secrets of our solar system.
There are thrills galore for youngsters at Adventureland, with a giant swing, a 3D giant ladder and other fun climbing apparatus including rope walks and an obstacle course.
